Employees
Ganneston Construction Corp. has a core group of employees consisting of 35 people, with an increased employment up to 45 employees during the peak construction months.
We have experienced, professional, and highly qualified Senior Managers, Financial and Administrative Staff, Estimators, Project Managers, Field Superintendents, Foremen, Lead Carpenters, Carpenters, and Laborers. Some members of senior and field management have been with the company for 30 years, while some supervisors and construction workers have been with the company anywhere from 10 to 20 years.
Ganneston Construction Corp. offers competitive wages and benefits including vacations, holidays, health insurance (90% of the employee, 20% of the family and 50% of the deductible), dental insurance, life insurance, short and long term disability insurance, bonuses, 401k Plan (matching contributions and discretionary year end contributions based on the profits of the company) and tuition reimbursement.
We promote growth within the company utilizing training through the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). The construction curriculum includes Introductory Skills for the Crew Leader, Project Supervision and Project Management. Additionally, we provide other work related training through Associated Builders and Contractors, Associated Constructors of Maine and Safety Works.
Subcontractors
We enjoy excellent relationships with subcontractors on our current and past projects locally and throughout the State of Maine. We pride ourselves in paying subcontractors and suppliers promptly and are able to provide other financial arrangements for smaller subcontractors in an effort to assure a fiscally responsible and timely project execution.
Equipment
Ganneston has its own construction equipment including a crane, trucks, forklifts, welders, and major tools. We also have resources available to us through our sister company which owns a number of large cranes and heavy construction equipment.
Technology
Ganneston Construction utilizes computerization in the main office and on job sites. We use Microsoft Project and Primavera software to assist in scheduling and project management. We use MAS 200 accounting software for payroll, general accounting and project budgeting and cost control.
Accountants
The Company utilizes the services of Cote-Dow Accounting for payroll services, month end reconciliation and tax preparation and returns. It uses the services of Purdy Powers & Company for year-end financial reviews.
Banking
Ganneston has an established banking relationship with KeyBank of Maine Corporate Banking. We have more than adequate lines of credit in place for cash flow and equipment purchases.
Bonding
We have been a valued client of Cross Insurance/Jones-Hoxie Division, our bonding agent, for over 14 years. We have a bonding program through Berkley Regional Insurance Company in excess of $10,000,000 for single projects and an aggregate program of $15,000,000.
Insurance
Through our agent Cross Insurance/Jones-Hoxie Division, we have had a long-term relationship with Acadia Insurance Company for our insurance program.
